Made it through the dim night

A super typhoon named Glenda has shown us once again who's the real mistress of the wind.

A super typhoon named Glenda has shown us once again who’s the real mistress of the wind.

It was Signal #3 in Manila this morning, and the winds were really (literally) howling so loud. It was horrible. The power was cut around 3AM because of the strong winds and rain.

This afternoon, I jogged around UP to check the aftermath, and numerous trees were uprooted. Electricity just came back around 8:30PM, and while I enjoyed reading Wolitzer, it was still heartbreaking to picture hundreds of families who needed to evacuate their homes to prevent being hit by storm surges in the coastal areas.

But Glenda’s gone, and for the nth nth nth nth nth nth time, the restoration has begun.
